A new year of challenges lie ahead for the EO4SD-Agriculture cluster. In preparation for this new phase, partners of the cluster gathered at the European Space Agency in Frascati (Rome) at the end of the year for two inspiring and intense days of discussions on the evolution of the project.
The first day was devoted to the services based on satellite data and information that the cluster has developed to support agricultural monitoring and management tasks, whilst the second day featured communications and user uptake activities carried out by the consortium.
Since April 2017, the Agriculture Cluster has been working closely with Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) and their Client States to harness the benefits of Earth Observation (EO) in global sustainable development. In this vein, partners also reviewed recent past activities such as the successful InfoSessions organised during 2018 at IFAD in Rome, the World Bank in Washington and the Asian Development Bank in Manila. These activities showcase the cluster paving the way to unleash the benefits of Earth Observation data for Multilateral Development Banks.
Now that the consortium is back from the Christmas break and full of energy for a new year of activities, don’t miss our regular publications on this website or the ESA twitter account. A wealth of EO4SD Capacity Building workshops, InfoSessions and publications are being planned for 2019. Stay tuned!
