From 2 to 4 April 2019, the lively city of Amsterdam welcomed professionals, leaders and enthusiasts representing the global geospatial community to learn about and discuss the latest developments as well as future prospects in the field of geospatial technologies and their applications at the Geospatial World Forum.
The Earth Observation for Sustainable Development (EO4SD) initiative was well-represented by the speakers Stephen Coulson, Head of Sustainable Initiatives Office of the European Space Agency, and Remco Dost, Lead of the EO4SD Agriculture Cluster. At the Geo4SDGs session, which was a part of the Geospatial World Forum, Stephen Coulson delivered a presentation about the support provided by space technologies for international development aid purposes, while Remco Dost discussed the increasing uptake of satellite-based Earth Observation data and services in the agricultural development community.
Moreover, EO4SD also organised a well-attended “Workshop on Earth Observation for Sustainable Agricultural Development” with four consortium speakers: Raul form ITC, Evelyn form Nelen&Schuurmans, Remco from eLEAF and Arjen from Satelligence. The room was full, highlighting the appreciation of the topics presented.
We thank all workshop and session attendants for their interest!
